# Get started

Everything here is public to browse. You only sign in to register an application.

## [1\. Browse](#_1-browse)

[LLMs](https://kongnet.kongai.uk/llms), [MCP servers](https://kongnet.kongai.uk/mcp), [agents](https://kongnet.kongai.uk/agents) and [APIs](https://kongnet.kongai.uk/apis) are all open. No account needed.

## [2\. Create a developer account](#_2-create-a-developer-account)

Choose **Sign up**. Accounts on this demo portal are approved automatically.

## [3\. Register an application](#_3-register-an-application)

Open an API, choose **Register**, and create an application. Kong Identity issues a client ID and secret for it.

## [4\. Get a token](#_4-get-a-token)

```bash
curl -X POST https://11pg3uogvejxujn8.eu.identity.konghq.com/auth/oauth/token \
  -u "$CLIENT_ID:$CLIENT_SECRET" \
  -d "grant_type=client_credentials&scope=openid"
```

Tokens are short lived and scoped to your application.

**On this demo:** Kong Identity issues your credentials, but the demo gateway still authenticates calls with an API key, so the examples on this portal use `apikey`. The gateway URL is a local data plane, so **Try it** works from the presenter's machine only.
